Alan Caruba
New Jersey is not likely a target of terrorist plans, though I suppose as vulnerable as anywhere else, reaped approximately $1,481,990 recently from just one program administered by the Department of Homeland Security. Overall, DHS will provide $34.6 million in direct assistance nationwide this year and, since 2005, has disbursed more than $69.7 million in equipment and training.

Neither Liberals nor Conservatives Support Our Troops
Terrorism
Alex Epstein
Supporters and opponents of President Bush’s Iraq War are clashing in a furious debate over who truly supports our troops. The President’s critics say they are supporting our troops by setting a timetable to bring them home from an “unnecessary” war. Supporters of the Iraq war say they support our troops by supporting their “vital” mission in Iraq.

What Real War Looks Like
Terrorism
Elan Journo
What should we do to protect ourselves from the threat of Islamic totalitarianism? Depressingly, today’s prevailing answer is to urge some form of “diplomacy"--and rule out as inconceivable the one option our self-defense demands: a war to defeat the enemy. If, like many people, you believe we’ve already tried this option and failed, think again. Washington’s campaign in Iraq looks nothing like the war necessary for our self-defense.

President Elect Thompson and Our Next Terrorist Attack
Terrorism
Bruce Walker
Amyone really watching the development of politics in America today must see that Fred Thompson is really President-Elect Fred Thompson. I say that as someone who thinks Rudy Giuliani would make a great wartime president and who would also do many of the good things for America that he was able to do for New York.

"PRESIDENT TRUMAN INCINERATES 200,000 JAPANESE!” - Remember that headline? No? If you don’t, it’s not because you’re too young to remember; it’s because no such headline was ever written.

Operation Bite. April 6. Bombs Away!
Terrorism
James T. Moore
If we don’t know what this insane, war-happy administration is going to do next, we can always find out from the Russians. Maybe because they’re closer to the action. Anyway, here’s the latest and it’s not pretty.
Why Iranians Take Hostages
Terrorism
Alan Caruba
I often fear that the vast ignorance of Americans and others around the world concerning the history of Islam condemns them to be pawns in the hands of the Iranians and other Muslim leaders who reflect why Islam came to be and how it has conducted itself since the death of Muhammad.

Terrorism
Cliff Kincaid
Accuracy in Media today announced its strong opposition to Buckeye Cable System’s decision to carry Al-Jazeera English, a subsidiary of the Al-Jazeera Arabic network. AIM has been in the forefront of a national effort to educate the American public about the threat Al-Jazeera’s new English-language spin-off poses to national security. AIM editor Cliff Kincaid has issued the following statement in response to Buckeye Cable System chairman Allan Block’s decision to carry the new channel:

Iraqi Police and Stabilizing Iraq
Terrorism
Jim Kouri
The National Strategy for Victory in Iraq articulates the desired end-state for US operations in Iraq: a peaceful, united, stable, and secure Iraq, well integrated into the international community, and a full partner in the global war on terrorism.
Congress Continues to Increase Support for Islamic Terrorists
Terrorism
Sher Zieve
Instead of insisting that terrorists actually pay the price for their actions, the beholden-to-leftists-for-their-financial-support Congressional Democrats (and their attendant RINOs) have again voted against the United States of America and in favor of Islamo-fascism. With their continuing insistence that the US refuse to fight the enemies of its country and the world, members of the Democrat-controlled US Congress are escalating their support of and for terrorism and the terrorists. Despite a January Senate Committee’s expressed approval of Lt. Gen. David Petraeus’ leadership in Iraq, on Tuesday 28 March this same Senate voted in favor of a US troop pull-out from that country. It also set a “date-certain” of 31 March 2008 for the end of all US troop deployment in that country. The terrorists and all others working toward the destruction of the USA, which now strongly appears to include our Democrat “leaders”, must be thrilled! It also appears that each time the Iranian Islamic fascists issue some new threat - the latest involving their taking of British hostages - the firmly leftist and subservient-to-terrorists Democrats cave and offer the enemies to our country even more concessions. Now that Congressional leftists are in control of both legislative houses, the Chamberlainesque philosophy of appeasing one’s enemies is increasing strength in the US Congress. Just as Neville Chamberlain attempted to placate Adolph Hitler, the Democrats seem bound and determined to employ the same tactic with all current regimes of the combined Islamo-fascist and Islamo-Nazi movements. Note: This pacification policy did not work during World War II and it will not work now. In fact, during WW II, it created an environment in which it was substantially easier for Hitler and the Nazis to seize additional European countries - and power.

The Rise of Islamists in the Middle East
Terrorism
Elan Journo
Washington’s policy of bringing elections to the Middle East, we were assured, would lead the region’s people to embrace America. But in fact many have flocked to support Islamic totalitarians--members of the ideological movement behind 9/11.

Iran Returns to Islamic Fallback Position: Taking Hostages
Terrorism
Sher Zieve
In November 1979, the US Embassy in Iran was seized by militant students representing the new Muslim fundamentalist Iranian regime headed by the Ayatollah Khomeini. Under President Jimmy Carter’s continuing and hopeless lack of any leadership, the Iranian hostage crisis lasted until the day President Ronald Reagan took his first Oath of Office on 20 January 1981. On that day and only a few minutes after President Reagan was sworn in as President of the United States, Iran announced its formal release of the US hostages. Prior to his election, President Reagan had vowed to gain the release of the still remaining fifty-two US captives. Although some of the hostages said they couldn’t be sure, former hostages Chuck Scott, Don Sharer, William Daugherty, Kevin Hermening and William Gallegos all positively identified current Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as one of the student leaders who affected the takeover of the US Embassy. Perhaps desirous of reliving those glory days, while he and his fundamentalist regime are experiencing demands from Iranian citizens to liberalize that country, Ahmadinejad has again returned to form—taking hostages. This time it is Iran’s 23 March Revolutionary Guard capture, at gunpoint, of eight British Royal Sailors and seven Royal Marines who were conducting routine inspections of merchant vessels.
