What is more characteristic of our modern day than crazy and wholly indefensible “policies”? It seems one of the undeniable characteristics of our times that many of the West’s most common practices and theories appear the result of insane conclusions. Perhaps this did not occur by accident. Instead, many of the founders of this modern age were troubled individuals who struggled with profound emotional and mental issues. 

The most amazing thing about the reaction of English MPs to last week’s terrible violence was how surprised they were. For a country whose criminal law is invariably sympathetic to offenders, nearly always harsh on their victims, and unwilling to pay for adequate policing the surprise is that they were surprised.

Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz is a Democrat Congresswoman from Florida and is currently the head of the Democrat National Committee. She is also one of the most vitriolic, off base, half informed demagogues of the far left in America today. There are tons of examples of her lies and calumnies out there—it’s an almost daily occurrence now that she is DNC head—but today we have a new one. This time DWS is lamenting how Republicans want to make illegal immigration, well, illegal.

Fears have been reignited about the safety of energy saving light bulbs after a group of scientists warned that they contain cancer causing chemicals.  - Their report advises that the bulbs should not be left on for extended periods, particularly near someone’s head, as they emit poisonous materials when switched on.

I don’t write about Maureen Dowd simply because she rarely offers anything worthy of serious, intellectual discussion. Recently, I received an E-mail from a gentleman who described himself as a “Bright.” Just in case you are not familiar with the term, it is not slang for an electrician or a light bulb salesman, but someone that is committed to a naturalistic worldview. To put it in simple English, it is a person who does not believe in God, or anything in the supernatural realm.
