A new report from a watchdog group says that the educational methods of Professor Bill Ayers constitute Marxist brainwashing.  The analytical and scholarly report by Professor Mary Grabar is the first systematic analysis of what lies behind Ayers’ title as a “Distinguished Professor of Education” and Academic Scholar at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Grabar says that Ayers’ educational philosophy of “social change” consists of “recycled Stalinist strategies of undermining American culture and education in order to bring about revolution.” She asserts that, “Ayers regards testing and grading of students as evidence of an imperialistic culture, one that needs to be overthrown.”

Here are ten reasons why parents should keep their children in public schools: 1.  Public schools can cripple your child’s ability to read. The schools use a special reading-instruction method to do this called whole-language (or balanced literacy). But that’s a good thing. Why do kids need to read anyhow? It only gives them ambitions to go to college. Parents have to shell out tens of thousands of dollars for college tuition these days, so if your child can’t read, you end up saving a lot of money.

Parents of students at Castro Valley High School in Castro Valley, Calif., have filed a lawsuit against the educational institution after teachers there summoned a lesbian minister to speak to math and science classes, then tried to keep that information hidden from parents, according to officials with the Pacific Justice Institute.

My father used to say that there was no defense against stupidity. He was a very smart man. When he entered kindergarten in the early 1900’s, he spoke his parent’s native language of Italian.
