Now you see town hall meetings can be educational
Politics
Carolyn Hileman
What did they think was going to happen? They ignored the voice of the American people three times on the amnesty bill, they ignored them again at the end of president Bush’s term when they said no to the bail outs, they ignored them again with Obama’s bail outs, stimulus and God only know what all else he spent money on, so when they called day and night and emailed till their fingers bled and still expected they would pass that trash legislation, people got angry, imagine that.

Sarah Palin vs the Sexist Victim Pimps from the Left!
Politics
Guest:
Sarah Palin, a woman who has been at the center 0f attacks by the Left in America, is, perhaps more than any other “minority” who dares stray outside the boundaries of accepted Leftist thought, an example of just how sexist, and racist the Left really is. More on that in a minute.
Administration accused of voter intimidation cover-up
Politics
Offsite
Six months after the election, voter intimidation charges against members of the New Black Panther Party in Pennsylvania were dismissed by the Department of Justice, and this week, some lawmakers are demanding the administration answer why.

Town halls gone wild
Politics
Offsite
Screaming constituents, protesters dragged out by the cops, congressmen fearful for their safety - welcome to the new town-hall-style meeting, the once-staid forum that is rapidly turning into a house of horrors for members of Congress.

Who Let the Blue Dogs Out
Politics
Jayme Evans
Barack Obama and Congressional Democrats have finally hit some resistance in their push towards socialism. Last week, something truly amazing and totally refreshing happened in Washington D.C. A group of fiscally-conservative Democrats known as the “Blue Dog” Coalition signaled that they could not support the bastard child christened “Obamacare”.

Obama’s Colorful Language
Politics
Thomas Lindaman
So, who watched the prime time press conference where President Barack Obama tried to sell his healthcare reform package to the American people? I’ll admit I didn’t. You see, I was busy watching a documentary on the plight of the rare four-toed sloth and their attempts to fit in with the three-toed sloth population...okay, I was watching the first disk of season five of “South Park.” You happy now?
The Catholic Next to You Might Not Be Real
Politics
Kevin Roeten
A group of vocal bishops could not sway the Catholic vote enough, and Catholics voted Obama for president in a 54-46% differential. What is supposed to be a solid block of votes for one or all of the five listed “non-negotiables” (if you actually follow Catholic belief) disintegrated into a rough conglomeration of votes for the issue to which people felt most attracted.

‘Is Palin Uniting or Dividing Republicans?’
Politics
Kristia Cavere
Speculations, even from Rush Limbaugh, that Governor Sarah Palin might form a third party has put her back in focus even more than after her recent resignation as governor. Thus, it is reasonable for Republicans, conservatives, and traditionally minded Americans to ask: Is Mrs. Palin producing a rebirth of conservatism and conservative candidates, or is she a distraction and a severing influence on the party?

‘Can Obama Spell “Failure”?’
Politics
Selwyn Duke
There actually was a time when an “e” ended a political career. Or, at least, the misuse of an “e.” I refer to that fateful day in 1992 when Vice President Dan Quayle told a 12-year-old schoolboy that “potato” was spelled with an “e” at its end. While the reality is that a flash card Quayle had been given bore the misspelling, the mistake was seized upon by the media and used to cement the eye-candy-and-air image of the boyishly good-looking vice president. It was a silly way to measure a man, but image is everything in politics.

‘Sarah Palin: Does Resigning Make Her a QUITTER?’
Politics
Doug Edelman
In these, the early days of the Obama Administration, trying to keep up with current events for the simple purpose of remaining informed has been dizzying. Trying to process all that information and analyze it for commentary is like trying to drink from a fire hose! The swirling vortex of info-speak out there babbles on incoherently; and any story of mass interest goes 24/7 wall-to-wall coverage. It is into that environment that I am reluctantly venturing with my thoughts on Sarah Palin’s surprising announcement that she will not seek re-election as Governor of Alaska – and more surprisingly, that she will not complete her term.

‘Am I Boring You?’
Politics
Alan Caruba
Years ago, beginning around 1984, I became “famous” as the creator of The Boring Institute, a media spoof that literally garnered international attention for its annual list of “The Most Boring Celebrities of the Year.” Until around 2002 I averaged a thousand radio shows and television appearances as the result of the Institute’s spoofs.

The Letter!
Politics
Offsite
An open letter to our nation’s leadership: I’m a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me.

The original rednecks
Politics
Carolyn Hileman
They carried their hunting rifles and little more, oft times starving, most times freezing, they came from farms and churches and walked or rode horses, but mostly they walked and they walked for days. They had no special military training, just the training they had from hunting and the endurance they learned from farming, their foes on the other hand were well trained militia, never at want for supplies and always dressed appropriately for the weather. I am sure if there had been such a word as redneck in those days, the description would have surely fit these men. They were not as refined as their enemy, the were not trained to fight a proper battle, why of what use could they possibly be except perhaps to prepare the field for planting?
Gods Come Cheap These Days
Politics
Chuck Baldwin
When President George W. Bush was first elected back in 2000, I well remember the way Christian conservatives went gaga over him. They would deny it, of course, but it was more than hero worship: they acted as if he were a god. Life-size posters filled Christian bookstores. Religious broadcasters and televangelists swooned over him like 16-year-old girls used to swoon over Elvis Presley. Pastors invoked his name almost as a prayer. The Religious Right acted like they had died and gone to Heaven. In the minds of Christian conservatives, G.W. Bush could do no wrong. The result of all this sophomoric silliness was that the Religious Right became blind, impotent lackeys to a Big-Government, big-spending, Orwellian, and inept administration--maybe one of the worst in U.S. history.

Hindsight
Politics
Leslie J. Sacks
Hindsight is great, especially when it comes to political expediency. President Obama and his surrogate, Attorney General Eric Holder, are in the process of determining how many good faith attorneys, operatives and advisors in the previous administration and the CIA will be held criminally liable for their interrogation activities and advice. Never mind that the activities and advice in question likely saved the lives of many US citizens and our soldiers on the frontline. Instead of being praised for successes and excused for excesses, these patriots have become the targets of a new witch hunt, set to be sacrificed at the altar of Obama’s unrivalled public relations juggernaut.
