The Democrat/Socialist Party’s plan to nationalize healthcare exemplifies the essence of social justice: an invidious urge to destroy what exists and a faith that social harmony depends upon making everyone equally miserable.

All government intervention in the economy distorts decision making, with bad and unanticipated results.

It would seem the hypocrisy of our government knows no bounds! Now they have gone to great lengths to exempt themselves from this wonderful government-run healthcare system they are trying to foist upon the unsuspecting American people.

Massive Tax hike to pay for Obama’s Socialized Medicine - Again, we TOLD YOU SO!

In this report we get a nice one-two punch. Not only are we seeing Democrats once again refusing even a tiny compromise with Republicans on Obama’s takeover of nearly 20% of our economy with his healthcare plans, but we also get to see another example of why Huffington Post is not journalism. I like a nice one-two punch for a Wednesday.

Among the most misbegotten blunders of the period leading up to the Second World War was that of British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain. Remembered for disastrous misjudgments during “negotiations” with Adolph Hitler, culminating in his almost comically ironic “Peace in our time” proclamation of September 1938, Chamberlain desperately sought to avoid direct conflict with Germany by appeasing the Nazi regime at any cost. In so doing, he exposed a weakness of personal fortitude and national will that only served to embolden the Reich.

All right already. I won’t call Obama a Marxist in this column. Instead, I’ll point to some signs that indicate that Barack and Karl might well be soul mates. At least, they have similar attitudes about capital, labor and profits, er, surplus value.

The story is told that when Ben Franklin emerged from the Constitutional Convention an anxious lady asked him what kind of government they had given us.  His famous reply was:  “A republic, Madam… if you can keep it.” And, for the most part, we Americans have been trying to keep it.  But “change” is in the air.

With liberals in control of the White House and United States Congress, America’s working class is bracing for the biggest tax killer since our country was founded in 1776 by a Tax Revolt against the British Empire for raising taxes on tea. Remember the Boston Tea Party?

As Americans whisper about their government these days (because they fear it. The government, I mean.).  We ordinary Americans have noticed a phenomenon that seems to have escaped the notice of the liberal/socialists in that government, including the President. The black community in America has just migrated back onto a plantation. This time it is Uncle Sam’s Plantation! And the “Boss,” up in the “Big House,” is a black man! How Ironic is that?! Not content to return his own people to the plantation, the Boss seems determined to have the white folks join them on Uncle Sam’s Plantation. That, dear reader, is just another definition of Socialism!

Government ownership of business will cause – as history has shown so many times – gross mismanagement and inefficiency.  We can expect that, of course, but those are recoverable calamities.  What worries me more is what happens when CBS goes bankrupt?  The network news audience is dropping like a rock?(1).  What happens when USA Today goes under?  The only major newspaper which has not lost readership, according to the latest audit, is the relatively conservative Wall Street Journal. (2).  Will Obama sit by idly while the workers at these companies lose their jobs?  Are these companies institutions which have to be kept from dying a natural death?

In an AP article entitled: “Administration seeks ways to tame corporate pay”, Jim Kuhnhenn writes: “Talking tough but stepping gently, the Obama administration rejected direct intervention in corporate pay decisions Wednesday even as officials argued that excessive compensation in the private sector contributed to the nation’s financial crisis. Instead, the administration plans to seek legislation that would try to tame compensation through shareholder pressure and less management influence on pay decisions.” You’ll find the article(1).

The younger generation probably doesn’t realize that the word socialism means and connotes a system that is profoundly un-American. Socialism has virtually disappeared from our national lexicon since the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) collapsed because of Ronald Reagan’s policies and the National Socialist (Nazi) Party was destroyed by the United States in World War II. 

Throughout our history, Americans have been inspired by many patriotic slogans such as “I have not yet begun to fight,” or “I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country,” or “Remember the Alamo.” I don’t believe the nation will find much inspiration in the Obama Administrations new one: “Remember the Yugo!”
