(CNSNews) - The Census Bureau admitted Tuesday that it had “artificially inflated the number of same-sex couples” in the United States, initially reporting a number that was about 40 percent higher than what it now believes is accurate.

Conservatives make a fundamental mistake regarding government employees. Frequently conservatives rail against lazy workers, using the enthusiasm–challenged as examples of all that’s wrong with government.

It’s poetic justice that Democrats, who are almost uniformly opposed to payday lenders, find themselves caught a bit short in Washington, DC. For those unfamiliar with the term, payday lenders are willing to loan short–term money so borrowers can get over a financial rough spot between now and the next payday.

Herb Meyer wrote an excellent article in American Thinker describing how our nation is undergoing a quiet, peaceful removal of a ruling class from power.  Elites have become obsessed with the perks of power.  They will be replaced by a new governance of ordinary Americans seeking to preserve the blessings of America.  What Mr. Meyer wrote, I believe, will happen.  Here is why.

This weekend we celebrated the birthday of Ronald Reagan. There is no question that “the Gipper” had his flaws. Government grew under his administration as it has under every other, but Reagan went far in significantly changing the debate over economic freedom.

Government is often called the “necessary evil.” But whatever it is, as each day passes we see that the “evil” part of that axiom seems ever more true. We can see the pernicious qualities of government at every level from local, to the state, to the era of Obamaism in the federal government. But if you want yet another example of how truly disgusting government is we have to look no farther than Illinois, the corruption larded Land of Lincoln.

The Massachusetts “Miracle on Ice” hit Democrats like an avalanche crashing in on a downhill skier. Gone is their 60-vote, filibuster-proof Senate supermajority. Likely dead is the Senate version of health-care “reform,” if not Obamacare altogether. Stunned and confused, Democrats now scramble around trying to decipher “what it means.”

Over the Christmas holiday I spent some time thinking about ways that Americans could fight for their personal sovereignty and against the latest oppressive and unconstitutional plans of liberals in Washington D.C. to control our health care and insurance systems.  Invariably when liberals cobble together their rambling laws they use such a muddle of nonsensical and contradictory words that there are always a loophole or two.  One such muddle of words that exists in both the House and Senate versions allows for religious exemptions from the power grab.  I had already been looking into writing an article about using the religious exemption to opt out when this week many readers sent me an article by Marc Heller in the Watertown Daily Times(1).  In his article Mr. Heller discusses how this exemption would allow the Amish of New York State to avoid not only having to participate in the plan but also avoid the taxes associated with it and also any penalties for not falling in line with government mandates.

Human nature, being what it is--- and what it is has some serious flaws-- how can the optimistic thinkers in America be so sure that, as bad as things are, all will change for the better, because the ebb and flow of life says so: what goes up will come down, but it will always go up again. And what goes up will not last because going back down is inevitable.  That up-and-down principle of life, however, doesn’t always work like it’s supposed to. It’s like the old canard, “The South Will Rise Again”, and you know how far that got.

Harlingen, Texas, November 25, 2009:  There is a daily blare of trumpet alerts from our ruling elite.  We hear the sounds everywhere calling out to us about loss, danger, gloom, catastrophe, suffering, pain, and fear.  There is not a ray of sunshine in anything coming out of Washington.  Yet, we keep electing the same old mental misfits, fakes, frauds and fools to positions of trust and leadership.

Rep. Ron Paul, the Texas Republican who has called for an end to the Federal Reserve, said legislation he introduced to audit monetary policy has been “gutted” while moving toward a possible vote in the Democratic-controlled House.  – Bloomberg News, Oct. 30, 2009 - There is always a fraudulent aspect to democratic government. There are things the electorate does not want to hear, so any candidate who hopes to win their support quickly learns to avoid subjecting the voters to uncomfortable truths. Once safely in office, it seldom serves the interests of the elected official to tell the people whose interest he nominally represents anything that will highlight the divergence between what is good for the legislator and what is good for those who will be subjected to the legislation he helps create.

Call it the tipping point. Or the point of no return.

Here is a curious thing. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has somehow been given authority to pay some of its employees more than we pay the vice president of the United States of America!
