The media bias in favor of illegal immigration, amnesty, and an open-border policy is plain for all to see. In the nation’s capital, Washington Post Ombudsman Deborah Howell admits that “Journalists tend to be softhearted toward the afflicted or the underdog, which tends to make them less critical of illegal immigrants.” The problem is that the media use sympathy for the downtrodden and underprivileged to excuse or ignore bad behavior and criminal activity. The victims are not just the law-abiding but the illegal aliens themselves.

In less than two weeks, Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean are ordered to report to federal prison for their attempt to apprehend a Mexican drug smuggler. Dozens of Congressmen have petitioned the White House to issue a pardon for these two brave officers. As of yet, they have received no answer.

Before the Industrial Revolution, humanity existed by tilling the fields for crops, picking fruits and storing them in root cellars. Transportation included animals, ox carts, rivers and oceans. All limited and slow!

Last week, NBC’s Tom Brokaw presented a one-hour television special on ILLegal immigration, “In the Shadow of the American Dream.” During the program, this great American soft-pedaled ILLegals’ impact on Vail, Aspen, Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, Colorado and the Roaring Fork Valley.
