Western culture has been inundated with celebrities who seem to believe the simple fact of their popularity is equivalent to expertise in fields of which they know little, if anything about. And far too often these mental midgets are having a tangible effect upon American culture. Common sense gets tossed out the window in favor of inanity and the media gobbles it up as if it were a fine intellectual delicacy.

Whatever the reason for Rosie O’Donnell leaving ABC’s program “The View,” there is no question that she made a number of statements that raised eyebrows. One statement that didn’t get a lot of attention was her defense of rap music in the wake of the Don Imus controversy. She claimed, “There’s something different about young black artists living their reality...and using the clay of their life to form the art that becomes their vessel.”

The Republicans have spent a lot of time sifting through the cold ashes of their perceived golden days of late. Hence their current swoon over actor Fred Thompson.

Are Christians just as dangerous as radical Islamists?  That’s what a new PBS documentary, A Brief History of Disbelief, is saying.  And, this is from the same people who refused to air a documentary giving voice to moderate Muslims in the United States.  Why silence that voice and give voice to atheists who decry any religious belief?  Because, it seems that in the halls of the Public Broadcasting System, all religion is bad.

Homosexuals and Allies Play “In Your Face” Politics with Christians - April 30, 2007 Washington, DC - The liberal leadership of the U.S. Congress has scheduled the final vote on the anti-Christian “Hate Crimes” legislation (HR 1592) on the same day as the National Day of Prayer (May 3).  The Traditional Values Coalition calls this move “in your face” politics against Christians in America.

I watched what was advertised as the first Democratic debate of the political season. MSNBC carried a 90-minute question and answer session wherein all eight announced Democratic candidates for President answered questions from NBC anchor Brian Williams.  Williams was fair but he did not lob tough questions at the candidates. For example, Williams might have asked why each of the candidates flew in to Columbia, South Carolina by private jet instead of by commercial airlines - global warming and all that, you know.

Recent indicators from the financial sector show the U.S. economy is taking a beating, with a possible bursting of the stock market looming on the horizon.

’Educators’ promoting homosexuality no matter what children learn at home.

Were the antics of the six Flying Imams merely additional tactics in the Islamic overall strategy of installing Shari’a law in the USA?  It would appear so, according to some self-avowed moderate Muslims and the results of other recently exhibited actions by US Islamists and their followers.  Let’s take a look.

Can a new film help derail the current push for amnesty for illegal aliens? Chris Burgard’s new movie “Border” is so good that it could dramatically affect the public debate. But because you can’t expect the major media to cover this shocking and poignant film, the challenge will be to make sure millions of Americans get a chance to see it. It tells the story of a war - a war just as important, if not more so, than the one in Iraq. 

America is a disaster waiting to happen!

According to the April 14th London Evening Standard, abortion industry insiders are blaming the decline in the number of abortionists on “the lack of ‘glamour’ involved in the work.” That’s the opinion of a spokesman for England’s largest chain of abortion clinics, who explains, “It’s not glamorous work for doctors, which may partly explain the increasing difficulty in recruitment over the last five or six years.”

At the present moment I view the political landscape in America as a proverbial compass at the true North Pole, its needle spinning wildly. Trying to read it are our political leaders (I use the term very loosely) encircled by the rest of us, mutely looking on.
