We are confronted by extremists of all flavors every day: Left, Right, Religious and Anti-Religious.  Most all of them refuse to consider any concepts of moderation.

In this reference, I don’t consider moderation being a wish-wash pansy, but willing to appreciate alternate views and take them into consideration.

Any group or persuasion that refuses to admit the existence of ideas or concepts that do not agree with their particular dogma deserve to be considered suspect.  They don’t have to blindly embrace an alternate position, but just respect it as another view on issues.

One upon a time, Americans managed to co-exist despite the fact they had many many varied ideas of political, religious and social values.

For various reasons that situation has evaporated.  I would suspect because many of the participants have worked to use legal and political methods to force their beliefs opon the other side.

In near recent history, a couple of examples come to mind.  I’m sure I’ll miss some, but they are presented here as a basis for expanded review.

1) Abortion is a prime target, because the extremists on both sides are constantly engaged in power battles. And never is there to be a common sense compromise.

2) Gun Control is yet another example of both sides refusing to consider a valid compromise.

Political Correctness, social dumbing-down, media distortion and undermining the Republic are beyond the scope of this discussion.

80% to 95% of Americans have no interest in these petty fights for political power, however they indirectly fund the efforts and at some point will get tired of being lied to!  At that time, the extremist whackos will get their just rewards, because they will be defunded in real time.

Extra comments: Open unrestricted abortion is total social and moral stupidity.  Reasonable Gun Access for all responsible citizens is needed because police systems are only empowered to react and criminals (political and on the street) love places where the populace is forced to be unarmed.
