Lettuce Review Political ‘Flip Flops’The term ‘Flip Flop’ seems pretty much to be a fabrication of political hacks that refuse to adapt to real-time situations.
If you examine a variety of political and social situations most often the real leader is the one that is prepared to change position based on today’s facts not historical positions.
A mush-mind agenda driven politician will stubbornly stand by any position adopted despite the current reality.
Our world changes almost daily in regards to all sorts of political and social considerations, we have too many people in office that refuse to adjust.
Changing a position just to suck up to a political power group without practical justification should be considered a true ‘flip flop’.
Some purported ‘Flip Flops’ are in need of serious examination not instant condemnation. Others, become obvious with the most cursory review.
A specific example of a ‘Flip Flop’ is a politician that changes position based on perceived audience, often more than once per week. Such an individual is not deserving of support by any political faction.
I would suggest that “political posturing” should not be generically categorized as a ‘Flip Flop’ unless it is just that.
If a position is obviously generic and specific situations call for specific adjustments such a statement should be considered as just that…
If a position is not generic, calls for adjustments and denials should be considered as a ‘Flip Flop’.
