Sen. Christopher Dodd(Demercrat - Peoples Republik Of Connecticut) introduced a bill(S. 1619) Aug 6, 2009 to do an end-run around the Constitution and transform the USA into “sovietized” blocks of slum “city-states”.

"Dodd’s bill(1) will authorize the appropriation of billions of dollars to bribe states and local communities to transform the nation into soviet-styled communities where freedom is sacrificed for the utopian vision of sustainable development."(2)

“Dodd’s bill, like all sustainable development propaganda, paints a warm and fuzzy picture of what “livable” or “sustainable” communities should be. The propaganda fails to point out that in order to achieve this Marxist utopia, government has to enforce the vision. This means that people must live where government says they must live; in homes that meet the government’s design criteria; and travel to work in vehicles approved by the government."(2)

First of all “Socialism” is not “sustainable” because it is self-destructive by design.  It might look good on paper and sound good in grandiose speeches.  ”They [socialists] always run out of other people’s money.”(3)

Socialism encourages mediocrity and slothing(4) while disdaining and punishing excellence and a viable work ethic.  Since productivity is trashed, there are little monies available to be taxed to sustain the system and it eventually crumbles under its own economic weight.

The Socialist model brings down all the general population to the minimal standard of living that it can support.  The “leaders” get their pick of all the “goodies” before the crumbs are passed out to the “workers”.

The combination is a Nanny and Welfare State on steroids - overseen by a “Police State” and “thought police”.
