An Observation About ExpressionEngineExpressionEngine Core 1.5.2 makes this little spot on the Internet run. It has good features and horrible features.
Management is a real nightmare. The power and visitor experience is great.
Simple things become a serious challenge for the administrator?
The old pMachine package is very much more simple to use, but lacks some of the power features in ExpressionEngine.
Now that I have fought a bunch of battles and somehow managed to win, ExpressionEngine looks like a tool to use on other sites, but the battles to make it dance shouldn’t have been there in the first place!
Who decides to make a software package that requires a Nerd to get it working if they want to sell bunches of copies?
ExpressionEngine has very serious useability issues! Stuff that should be simple to do is a real mess? Basic Admin functions go to confusing menus and then do a dead-end once found?
I hope the gang at pMachine.Com pause and address this problem. If they do, they will have a killer product.
